Description: Licensed Electrical Engineer
Electrical Engineer Job Purpose:
Collaborative works with Mechanical and Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineers in designing electrical systems for commercial projects.
Electrical Engineer Job Duties:

  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
  • Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
  • Develops electrical products by studying client requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Complies with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements: 5 years + experience in commercial design. Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience desirable. P.E. Licensed in Virginia.

Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer
Qualified candidates will need to possess experience and knowledge of plumbing/fire protection systems for commercial, industrial and retail projects.  Candidates will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

Job Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Experience with Revit will be an advantage for the successful candidate.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities/deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with related plumbing/fire protection engineering codes, standards and references.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Typical duties may include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation and/or modification of plumbing/fire protection drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Review of plumbing/fire protection design work and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Providing construction administration services.
  • Construction site visits and field reports to manage projects and control construction problems and/or issues.
  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Analyze reports, drawings, tests and other data to plan and design work.
